Smartclean Services Ltd- Case Study
The Power of Local Search
Smartclean Services Ltd are an award winning cleaning company, and started out as a family business, which grow into a team of 40+ employees.
CEO Robert Hearne was looking to improve his SEO and drive visitors to his website for multiple locations in Sussex and Surrey. We approached robert, at a time that he needed to take his digital marketing to the next level.
How did we start?
Like every SEO project should, we started working from the ground up, and performed a technical SEO audit of the site, and see if we could find any quick wins.
Robert had been doing most of the SEO himself , and was curious to know how we could help him increase search visibility, and start building up his locational search terms.
Let’s dive into what’s Important
Using tools, like Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs, we managed to identify a formula to optimise his website and start building some structure to promote his key pages,
After manually checking through Google’s index we noticed the site was being found for both (http) and (https) and had duplicate content issues running through the location pages.
Conducting a technical audit showed huge opportunity for improvements across the site. This included removing bulk meta keywords, adding alt tags , new site maps, and general on page optimisation through headers and titles.
How did we Achieve Page one Rankings for over 15 locations.
We crafted hyper local content, and with a mixture of internal linking, on page optimisation, and targeted editorial placements, we started to see the site performance grow.
The techniques that I am sharing below, show how massively important site architecture is for winning first page rankings.
Hyper Local Content
Through building up the size and relevancy of the site with location based content, we quickly started to see movements in the search. Every page we built connected to a larger content strategy, that supported both the companies services and latest news with awards, company anniversaries, and announcements of winning new projects.
We created GEO targeted links through directory Listings, article placements, and social signals to create relevant and on topic content in each location. The strategy used here was “link balancing” and was aimed at building the site authority as a whole, rather than just target pages.
Using local seo tactics, and leveraging the opportunity for map listings, we made sure every page was super local, and optimised with unique titles, and descriptions to increase CTR in the search results.
What happened Next:
Robert, was soo happy with the movements is the search results that he wanted to take it a step further and let us start working on his other business Vericlean Services. This lead to us achieving first page positions for 16 locations:
